Petersfield Lib Dem Candidates for Petersfield Town Council and East Hampshire District Council

    Petersfield Bell Hill

GRANT BUDDEN - PTC and EHDC

I have lived in Petersfield nearly my entire life, almost 40 years. I was educated at The Petersfield School, before attending College and University. I have worked in local authority benefit investigation for 14 years now, saving the Council Tax payer money. As well as stamping out abuse, we advise and make sure legitimate claims are paid.
I am interested in providing affordable housing for our young people, to save them from leaving the town, but believe any further housing development must be sympathetic to the character of our town and not overburden our town's essential infrastructure. I am concerned with the state of our roads and pavements and Petersfield's problems with casual littering and vandalism. Just while campaigning in Bell Hill I have managed to help get recreational facilities and potholes repaired.

    RICHARD CLIFFORD

Richard Clifford has lived in Headley since 1994. He was Chairman of Headley Parish between 2007-2010 and has been an active Councillor for nearly 14 years. Richard is acutely aware of the mis-management, cuts and financial ineptitude of the Tory District Council and the urgent need for political change. Richard says "Tory run East Hampshire is not serving its citizens well. Residents are suspicious of the Whitehill-Bordon Eco-Town project, in particular housing numbers and increased traffic. The Eco-Town, will have a major effect on Headley and Standford in particular. There must be a Referendum and that must include Headley As a Parish Councillor, Richard has promoted cycle usage, sporting facilities and safe play equipment. He works locally for an aerospace company, is married with two grown-up children and in his spare time enjoys countryside walks, cycling, wildlife and the occasional visit to Aldershot Football Club.

Whitehill Town Council and EHDC Elections

    Whitehill, Walldown

Adam Carew - Town and District

Adam Carew is Mayor of Whitehill. He's lived here for 40 years and was recently engaged to his fiancé Jennie. He was elected by Walldown residents to become the youngest councillor at EHDC and is our County Councillor. He set-up the Mayor's Charity which raised £4000 for our local Children's Centre. Adam has fought long and hard for our town. He led campaigns versus housing on Walldown Traingle, against the axing of our rail link bus, and to get Whitehill into the National Park. He cut speed limits on Hollywater, Liphook and Walldown Roads. Adam launched our town's Green Vision and sits on the Ecotown Delivery Board. The Army's decision to stay or go is imminent. We need Adam more-than-ever to ensure our voice is heard. Adam says "Lib Dems want a fair deal for Whitehill-Bordon, to get shops and facilities we need whilst protecting our countryside and green spaces.
